It’s official, the Cubs were finally able to dump Jacque Jones and his $5M salary; well, $3M of it anyways. They received infielder Omar Infante from the Tigers in return, a former top prospect who has failed to impress, even at age 26. Great job by Dave Dombrowski, finding a bargain instead of facing an expensive free agent market. I just don’t think they gave up much with Infante. Jones is about league average and plays pretty good defense. He can even slide over and play centerfield, which is a plus.
