It just keeps getting worse for the Padres. Chris Young went on the 15-day DL with a broken nose after taking a line drive to the face from Albert Pujols. The Pads should just be happy he’s not dead. Now their pitching is a shambles too, just like their offense.

Andruw Jones is out with a knee issue, and that means Juan Pierre is a starter again. Pick him up if you need some steals. It’s good news for the rest of the Dodgers outfield, including Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp.

Eric Gagne is now “out indefinitely” with rotator cuff tendinitis. Drop him like he’s hot. It’s a committee for now, but I think Salomon Torres will be the guy who emerges.

John Smoltz isn’t looking so good, though Altanta is being, well, brave about his shoulder. If you have the DL spot and don’t need the innings, you might keep him around a little longer, but otherwise I think you should try to trade him or drop him.
